Field Trip

Since the weather was so nice yesterday, Danny rode the scooter to work, leaving us the car.  We decided to take advantage of that by taking a trip to visit Julie at the airport.  Wyatt's new best friend, Parker, came along and they had a blast!  Wyatt talked about it all day.  Julie let them get in the plane, showed them how the wings moved, then showed us the simulator.  There were a couple of guys about to use it so they turned it on and let the boys watch.  I think Wyatt might have been in shock.  He didn't say a word the whole time.  Julie had to go back to work after that so we drove out by the runway and watched the planes land and take off.  It was a great afternoon, and one that I'm sure we'll be doing again if Wyatt has any say! Thanks Julie!

Like a Lion

Although we were wearing shorts and flip-flops earlier this week, that is no longer the case! What started as rain is now snow and quite a bit of it.  We have spent the day eating chocolate while wearing jammies and we are currently watching the original Annie (which I love!).  We've also watched Speed Racer and Bolt, made pancakes with playdough, colored some motorcycles, crashed trains, and played hide-and-seek.  I must admit that usually I'm complaining about the snow when it happens in April, but I just don't feel that way today.  It does snow a lot here so it's probably time that I started to have a better attitude.  (Just don't hold me to this attitude if it's still snowing next week.)

Let the Hunting Begin!

Wyatt finally understood the point of an egg hunt this year!  He actually made quite the haul and had a great time!  Dad stayed with Wyatt while Mom helped Eva.  They were so cute and the weather was perfect!  I'm sure the majority of Wyatt has eaten for the last 48 hours has been chocolate!

Coloring Eggs

On Saturday we colored eggs with the in-laws and all the cousins.  Wyatt just liked to drop them in the buckets and see the splash.  Even if the egg was already colored he would put it in the next color just to see the mess  he could make.  He had a great time and managed to stay clean, although I'm not sure how.  We also let Eva color 2 eggs.  I forget how much she reaches so I kept making  the mistake of letting putting the dye to close to her.  She got both hands in and then dripped it down her chest.  She was having a good time until we tried to hold her still for some pictures.

We also got to color eggs with our new neighbors last week.  They have a boy who is 6 months older than Wyatt and girl who is 6 months older than Eva.  We are so glad that they moved in across the street!  Wyatt watches their house all day to see when they come out so he can play. The only problem is that now Wyatt will cross the street without asking.  Luckily our street isn't a through street so there isn't much traffic, but it still worries me.

Vacay! (Yes, I did just type that.)

We spent the week in the wonderfully warm weather with my awesome sis, Meg and her fam.  We had so much fun!  We didn't doing anything especially exciting, I guess.  But after months of snow, sun was enough to make us all giddy.  We went to multiple parks, took walks and spent lots of time playing.  And now the highlights...

Making the cousins take a bath together.  (I'm sure we can use this as embarrassment later.) Notice that Wyatt is not actually sitting in the water.  Once he saw that the water was red (we used bath tablets) I had to fight him to get in.  He finally did but he kept saying he couldn't sit down because the water was dirty. He's so funny!

Trying to ride the tricycle downhill.  Definite possibility that this is going to hurt...

And right after.  I know it seems like he's really hurt but he only cried for like 2 seconds.  He just really knows how to cry.

Wyatt, Kenzie and Teddy.

Yes, that is really dirt all over his face.  Meg has a volleyball pit in her neighborhood that we played at one day.  Wyatt went into the pit before his sunscreen was all the way dry and came out looking like this.

The Pit

Meg has an entire bag full of 3D glasses, which may seem like a weird thing to save, but the kids loved them!  Kenzie and Wyatt played all afternoon and it was so cute!

In the van getting ready for the park.  Wyatt enjoyed having kids in the back seat with him.  After we got home he kept asking me to sit in the back with him.  He's going to love it when Eva can play with him.

Megs and I at the park.  Aren't we hot?

And last but not least, my little cutie-pie.  Don't you just want to squeeze her?  She gets cuter every day.

Dirty Boy = Wyatt

March 20
I honestly have no idea how Wyatt gets so dirty.  I took this picture after we had been outside for maybe 5 minutes.  We walk out the door and Wyatt goes straight for the dirt on the side of our house.  He's happier there, than anywhere else.  All he needs is one matchbox car and some dirt and he can last for hours!

And She's Off

March 19
Eva has started to climb.  A lot.  On everything.  Her favorite place of late has been our TV stand.  She very good at getting up on things, but not so good at getting down. I think I spend half my day pulling her out or off of things.  But she's so cute, so I guess I can't really complain.

Ridin'

March 18
You can tell it's spring (or at least that we wish it was spring) because we finally bought a bike trailer for the kids and spent the evening getting it all ready and then going for a ride.  Wyatt really likes his helmet.  He even wore it out of the store.  Eva, on the other hand, isn't really a fan.  I'm very excited to start taking the kids for rides.  The only probably being that I'm just a little out of shape to be towing weight behind me. :) But I'm working on that.  One day at a time.

Excuses

So, it's been mentioned lately that I have really slacked off on blogging.  And the truth is, I have.  I have a few reasons.  First, I spent a week in St. George and while there my kids both got sick and it lasted until we got home and then they managed to pass the nasty cold onto Danny.  After  a couple of weeks of wiping noses and getting up multiple times a night, I think we're all better now.  The second, more intimidating reason, is that I'm not witty or philosophical in any way.  There are many blogs that I read that are smart and funny and I can see that I'm not that way.  But I've come to terms with that now.  The only reason I wanted to blog was to show people how stinkin' adorable and smart and funny and cute my kids are.  So that's what I'm going to do.  I'm going to brag and post lots of pictures and pretty much make my blog irrelevant to anyone that doesn't know our family personally.  So there you have it...

And now I will proceed to blog again.
