Daylight!!

I love this time change! Danny got home from school last night at about 7 and it was still light outside. I know the days aren't really longer but they sure feel like it. Of course, now Wyatt thinks he gets to stay up later since it's still light outside. You win some, you lose some, eh? Danny has spring break this week so no more school until Monday! I think we're just planning on spending as much time outside as possible. Danny hasn't really had a chance to take Wyatt out in his wagon, so he's hoping to do that tonight. And if the weather holds out (cross your fingers) then we might try the zoo this Saturday.

I Heart Pedicures!

Aren't our feet just pretty? Yesterday Danny and I had a little outing with Julie and Chance. Chance had never had a pedicure before so we went with them for his first experience. I haven't gotten one since last summer and since my feet have been suffocating in socks and shoes all winter, it was time. Now we are officially ready for flip-flop season. We just need the weather to cooperate!

Negative!!

On Monday when I took my routine glucose test, by levels were too high, so on Wednesday I had to go in for a 3 hour glucose test. I started fasting at 8 pm on Tuesday and went to the clinic lab on Wednesday at 8 am. I had my blood drawn and then had to drink 100mg (instead of the normal 50) of the glucose drink. Then I had to have my blood drawn 3 more times at 9:20, 10:20 and 11:20. All in all, this is not something I ever want to do again! The drink didn't taste too bad going down, but that much sugar on an empty stomach is not good! I felt sick for about the first hour, and then I was just really tired. As soon as they took my blood the last time we stopped at Burger King on the way home to get a burger. I was so hungry! But putting food in my stomach after the test, was not so good either. I guess it was just a no-win situation! We got home at about noon and Danny had to leave for work. I put on "A Bug's Life" for Wyatt, since it's his current favorite, made sure he had all his cars, a snack and a sippy, and then I crashed on the couch. Every now and then Wyatt would come and lay his head by mine and say "hi" but he let me sleep for about 2 hours! I'm so glad that he is so easy going. Plus, sometimes I think he just knows when I don't feel good and he needs to occupy himself. Anyway, the nurse called me yesterday and my results were normal! Wahoo! I didn't really think it would have come back abnormal anyway, since that sort of thing doesn't run in our family at all. So, onto a normal pregnancy, and a normal amount of weight gain.

28 Weeks

This is my rant for the day...I LOATHE the girls that work as the receptionists in my doctor's office. I love, love, love Dr. Dayton. She is the only reason that I still go to a doctor in Payson. Let me tell you why I feel this way today. I had my 28 week appointment today, which means the gestational diabetes test. I made my appointment for 8:15 am, knowing that I had to fast for 12 hours before the appointment. This is how my morning went. Up at 6:00 am to shower before Wyatt wakes up and ready by 6:45 so that I can get Wyatt ready. We had to leave the house by 7:15 to get Danny to work in Lehi and then me in Payson by 8:15, since we have one car. I drank the glucose drink at 7:25, 50 minutes before my appointment, just like I was told. I dropped Wyatt off at Grandma Alvey's and made it to the doc's office at precisely 8:15. When I went to sign in I noticed that there was no sign-in sheet for Dr. Dayton. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, she looked at me with a blank look on her face and our conversation went something like this:

"Oh, she called in sick, " said receptionist, with no apology.

And I replied, "And no one called me yet?"

To which she said, "Umm...well. Oh, I probably should have called you when we got here at 7:45. Sorry."

And that was it. Aargh!

Since I had already prepped for the test, I asked if I could take it still and again, the girl looked at me with a stupid look on her face and said, "I'm not sure." Ignoring her remark, I asked for the lab sign-in sheet and told her I was taking my test anyway. Then I scheduled my appointment for 32 weeks. Hopefully, I actually get to see the doctor next time!

"Warm" Weather

The high for today is 48, and I'm loving it! Isn't it weird that after a cold winter 48 degrees will feel warm? In the fall that kind of a temperature would have seemed cold. Yesterday Wyatt and I played outside for about an hour after lunch. It was like he was rediscovering all the good stuff about being outside. You know, like rocks, sticks, mud, airplanes, helicopters (the hospital is right by our house so we always see the life flight choppers). In the last months of being cooped up inside, Wyatt has gained quite an extensive vocabulary, so he spent most of the time pointing everything out that he knew the names for. After we went inside, I was cleaning up the house and I went to put something in Wyatt's room. I knew he was back there playing but I figured he was occupied with his many toys cars. When I got back to his door I peeked in before entering only to find him trying to put on some shorts. We bought him some shorts for summer a couple of weeks ago, and he has been dying to wear them. I'm not sure why! But almost everyday he brings them to me to put on. I figured that it was probably fine to just let him wear them around the house, so I helped him to put them on and then I took him into our room to show him how he looked in the mirror. I asked him "how's that?" and he replied "that's better." I guess he inherited my hatred of having to wear pants, socks and close-toed shoes. Hopefully, this nice weather is a sign that spring is just around the corner! I've already made sure that all my maternity capris and shorts and t-shirts are washed and ready to go!

Easy Spaghetti Frittata

Total Time:30 min
Makes:8 servings, 1 wedge each



8 oz. spaghetti, uncooked
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium zucchini, sliced
1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
8 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese

• PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Cook pasta as directed on package. Meanwhile, heat oil in large ovenproof skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions and mushrooms; cook and stir 5 min. or until onions are crisp-tender. Add zucchini and tomatoes with their liquid. Cook 10 min. or until most of the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.

• MIX pasta, eggs and 1/2 cup of the cheese in large bowl; mix well. Add to vegetables in skillet; stir until well blended. Cook on medium-low heat 5 min. or until bottom of frittata is set. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.

• BAKE 10 min. or until center is set. Cut into 8 wedges to serve.

My changes: I don't like mushrooms at all (yuck!), so I don't even add them. Also, I always use more cheese than the recipe calls for because cheese is really yummy.

Note: I'm not a big fan of zucchini either, but it's delicious in this recipe! You can either have it for breakfast with some bacon and sausage or serve it for dinner with a green salad and some bread.

Danny and I found this book at Costco and for those of you that have boys, it's quite fun. This book teaches you all the "essentials" that boys need to know to be a True Man. It's pretty fun to read and I'm sure will come in handy on some rainy (or snowy) day in the future!

Growing

This is just an update on what I look like now. It took awhile for this baby to decide to show up but here she is! I'm still wearing most of my normal clothes, although I do now have some maternity pants that fit. I had some clothes left over from Wyatt but most were worn out or they are still too big for me. Mostly, I just like to wear comfy sweat pants. She's moving more and more, but thankfully I'm not too uncomfortable yet. The other day she was moving a lot so I had Wyatt feel her, and his only response was to quickly take away his hand and say "Eww. Yucky." It was quite funny.

Everyday it seems like my mood changes. Some days and I'm so excited and can't wait for the day she gets here, and some days, I get so nervous about the birthing process and then having 2 kids at home. On the nervous days, I just look at all the baby stuff we have for her and that helps to get me excited again. Tomorrow we have our second ultrasound. When we had the first one the radiologist couldn't find her bladder. He said that she had probably just gone to the bathroom before we started, so it's probably nothing to worry about. I'm just excited to get to see her again. I'm so amazed by the fact that she is growing in me, and that I can see all her little fingers and toes. It makes me cry everytime! Wish us luck!

When I got home I told mom that I was never going out with him; that there was nothing there. :)

Who proposed? He did, in his parents kitchen.

Who is more sensitive? It's a draw. We're equally sensitive but about different things.

Who has more friends? He does. He has school friends and work friends. I spend my days with an 19 month old.

Who has more siblings? I do. I have 13 and he has 5, so I only beat him out by a little.

Who wears the pants in the relationship? I think it's equal, just depending on the situation. Although sometimes it might be Wyatt.
