Spring Cleaning

Wyatt finally decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to cut his hair. He's a little attached to his hair and has been growing it out all winter. It's been tickling his ears for a little bit and I think he finally got sick of it. So we called Uncle Kyle to come over and chop it all off.

BEFORE

AFTER

I was running errands while Kyle was here cutting and I was so happy to come home to it all done! Kyle finished by cutting Danny's (I was going to post pics of his too, but he said no), cleaned up and left.

Then, I noticed this little doozie...

That's right. A tail. GROSS! Both Kyle and Danny thought it was so funny! I didn't want to get the clippers back out that night so Wyatt had to go to swim lessons the next day with is disgusting tail. Don't worry, I made Danny buzz it off first thing the next morning!

Over The Weekend

Wyatt decided that he was ready to ride without his training wheels, so on Friday Danny took them off. He has a hard time starting by himself but as long as he goes fast then he's fine. We only had three crashes (I caught two on video), which I thought was pretty good. (per Danny's request, I made a movie with the clips and added the song...)

Pictures

While getting ready for swim lessons this morning Wyatt and Eva didn't seem to want to stop fighting, so I told them if they would be quiet for 10 seconds I would take their pictures.

Eva (22 months), Wyatt (3 Years 9 Months)
Eva makes this face a lot. I always wondered where she got it from until a couple of weeks ago when apparently I made the same face and Wyatt informed me that I look just like Eva when she's grouchy. Guess I need to start paying attention to my expressions.
Wyatt told me that he didn't want to smile with is teeth because he thinks that he looks cooler when he keeps his mouth closed. This kid says some of the most bizarre things sometimes!

Just Keep Swimming

Wyatt had his first swim lesson to day and it went so much better than I was expecting! Wyatt has not been a fan of swimming since he was like 18 months. We like to try and take him, but he mostly just hangs on to us and cries. I signed him up about a month ago and when I told him, he told me that he would not get in a big pool, EVER. So, I was a little nervous to take him today. We been trying to get him excited about swimming for the last week or so. Our neighbor is taking the class with him, so that has helped. And he was excited all morning to go, but when we walked into the pool and he saw how big it was, he told me he didn't want to get in. His teacher came right over and took both Wyatt and Parker (our neighbor) and they got in and didn't look back. It amazes me that kids will do so much better when it's not their parents teaching them! I was watching all the things the teacher made him do and remembering how freaked out Wyatt got when we tried to do the same things with him. Hopefully his lessons will continue to go well and we'll be able to take him swimming this summer and actually have fun!

2 Big Steps

One good one and one slightly sad one...

We'll start with the sad one because I prefer happy endings.

Took the kids shopping yesterday for some clothes and realized that the biggest shirts in the toddler section (5T) no longer fit Wyatt. I now have to shop for him in the BOYS section! When he did he get so big? He acts so grown up all the time now, especially when he and Eva are playing and he doesn't realized I can hear him bossing Eva around.

On to the happy ending of this post...

We have been at the 9 am church schedule for 5 Sundays now (still can't tell you how much I LOVE it!) and we have been to church 15 minutes early for every one of those Sundays! For those of you that are familiar with my parents and/or any siblings you know how much we enjoy being early to things. :) I have to admit that I'm very proud of our little family for accomplishing this feat! Sacrament meeting really is more enjoyable when we aren't barely making it on time.

In Loving Memory

First Sunday

We recently changed to the 9 am schedule for church and I can't tell you how much I LOVE it! This is the first time in our marriage that we've been at 9 and also the first time since we had kids that church hasn't conflicted with at least one nap. It's so great! I had forgotten what it was like to sit through an entire sacrament meeting and actually listen. The kids only get up about an hour before church so they are both in good moods. We haven't had to take either one out of sacrament meeting for the last 2 weeks. I'm in heaven! With the change Wyatt also moved into Sunbeams. I can't believe he's old enough! He was so excited to be in Primary and to go to the big kids class. The only drawback to him moving is that now Eva is alone in nursery. They were together in nursery for about 6 weeks and apparently him being with Eva was the only reason she was okay going. :( She cries when we even go near the nursery door, so it looks like either Danny or I will be spending time with her for the next couple of weeks to get her used to being there.

Their first day separated - my kids are both growing up!

Cupcake Anyone?

So glad that this was Eva's Christmas. She now spends all her time playing in her room and making us stuff to eat. Now when Wyatt shuts her out of his room (she tends to break his track or road or whatever he's playing with) she just goes into her room and occupies herself. I have so much less cleaning to do now that she stays busy playing with her kitcehn instead of making messes everywhere else. :) So, if you're ever hungry and in the area, stop by. I'm sure Eva would love to have you over for hot chocolate and cupcakes.

How is your day?

Wyatt woke up with a fever of 100 that has steadily gotten higher and is now at about 102.5. He's currently sleeping next to me and watching 'Frosty the Snowman' through his eye lids. Eva seems to be at the end of whatever cold she's had for the last 2 weeks, finally! But I think she may have gotten rid of it by giving it to me. (Aren't moms supposed to be exempt from sickness?) Considering all of this, I have to say I have had a pretty good day. We've spent the time watching Christmas movies, cuddling and reading books. Doesn't get much better than that.
